When the autumn leaves were falling our class went on a nature walk to explore the different trees on the school grounds. The children found oak, ash, maple, sycamore, coniferous, holly and horse chestnut trees. We found the horse shoe prints on the horse chestnut trees which is where they get their name. We recorded our findings in our S.E.S.E copies and chose some leaves to use for our art.
We also had a member of the Heritage council visit our class in December. He taught us all about the different birds in our area. We saw a blue tit fly towards us when he played birdsong on his phone. We also learnt that the birds tap the ground to trick the worms and then they eat them. We had la great time and learnt lots of interesting information.
