October in Room 1 - Ms Clarke
We had a very exciting October and worked really hard in the lead up to Halloween. Joe Redmond (Captain of St. Pat’s) came in to visit us and we all got the chance to get a picture with him and his autograph! We learned all about Oíche Shamhna in English and Irish! We had a visit from the Gardaí who spoke to us about being safe over Halloween too. We painted pumpkins, created spooky haunted houses and started to read Coraline. We started our Botkin’s Lifeskills programme with Lisa who is teaching us different life skills. We took full advantage of the exercise stations on the rooftop yard with lots of movement breaks too. We focused on catching and throwing skills in PE, wrote our own procedural texts in English and worked in groups to make projects on different countries competing in the Rugby World Cup in Geography. Our class also organised shoeboxes for the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal!
We finished up a very busy October with our Halloween performance and a party.
