In January we celebrated Chinese New Year by creating our own Chinese lanterns using a collage method. We used pieces of yellow paper and red feather in our collages. The 1st February was the feast of St. Brigid, one of the patron saints of Ireland. Logan in 4th class took part in a St. Brigid's cross making workshop with Heritage Ireland and we weaved some St. Brigid cloaks of our own in class!
We have spent the last two months doing our own independent projects on different modes of transport. Dennis researched planes, Logan researched cars and Luke researched hot air balloons. We took a trip to our local library in Dolphin's Barn to do some research for our projects!
Our sensory garden is really starting to come into bloom as we enter the season of spring. We have daffodils blooming and all kinds of birds coming to visit our garden! We took part in the Bird Watch Ireland Garden Bird Survey this year. We love the garden because it activates all of our senses! We have plants that you can feel, smell, touch and even taste!
