Room 10 - Christmas Newsletter
Dear parents and guardians, you might be wondering what room 10 have been doing since September. Here’s a few examples: in September we were doing a project about Teresa Ball aka a book and we were revising subtraction and addition. In October we were with Ms. Nolan doing a project about the Amazon Rainforest and we were learning about Ancient Egypt. At the end of October we played a few minute to win it games and we got treats from teacher. In November Ms. Nolan was still here but only for 10 days on the last day with Ms. Nolan we gave her gifts and positive notes. In December we made doors for advent calendar all of them had surprises and we did fractions, multiplying and dividing. -Maryam
I remember when we learned about ancient Egypt. We learned that they worshiped cats and a pharoh named Tutankhamun became a pharoh at the age of 9. We also learned that the ancient egyptians used hieroglyphics as letters and the rosetta stone translates them. – Altea
We learned about the counties of Ireland. We did a quiz to see if we could name all 32.– Rhys
In PE we played Volleyball. We learned how to throw and kick a ball. We played American Football at Thanksgiving. We also learned how to skip. We watched the highlights of our football match. Our favourite part was when Hannah took a nap in the middle of pitch. – Rosie
We made a winter wonderland with Jane. We made it by printing white ink onto black paper. – Charley
We learned about seeds. We planted growth windows in November. We were jealous of Arfa whose grew the most! – Tadhg
We open a door on the advent calendar each day until Christmas. Our surprises so far have been a popcorn party, no homework, a whole class Dojo point, a Toy Show rewatch and a whole day of Christmas music. – Kacper
Over the past few weeks we have been learning lots. We have been doing so many fun things with Ms. Mullen. In geography we made scrapbooks with passports and a boarding ticket to travel all around the world. We have only been to Canada, America, Germany, Sweden, Italy and Mexico. We have had an amazing time learning about how other countries celebrate Christmas. In English, we did Madlibs. We also have pen pals it is very exciting to be writing to friends all the way in California. In Irish we have done splat bingo and tic tac toe. We learned Sioraí Spraoí. Finally, we wrote Advent Reflections based on the artwork from Michael Moyers. In his paintings he shows us the story of the Nativity. – Katie
