We have had a very eventful Term 2 in room 4 sixth class. With the majority of restrictions ending during the term school has really felt back to pre Covid 19 times.
English: In English this term we have continued on with our station work and group novels. We have changed a few of our stations around this term and are now working on determining important information from texts, Guided reading, semantic mapping and A- Z reading. We have also completed a lot of excellent written work this term. We have been working on the genres of procedural writing and report writing.
Gaeilge: In Gaeilge this term we have been working on the themes of Ar Scoil, Caitheamh Aimsire and Eadai. The children have worked really hard on each theme. They have enjoyed playing games, asking each other questions and writing stories about each theme.
Maths: The children have done some excellent work in Maths over term 2. They have nearly completed the Maths curriculum and will be doing a lot of revision in term 3. A lot of the children have made excellent progression across the Maths curriculum.
History: The children have really enjoyed learning about WW1 and WW2 during term 2. They completed some excellent projects about WW1. Well done to all who completed their project.
Other News: The children have done a lot of really exciting activities over the past term. They took part in 6 weeks of swimming in Crumlin swimming pool, they have completed a drumming lesson in school, had a heritage talk about native species to Ireland, had their enrollment ceremony for their confirmation, completed lessons on Respect with Paula from school completion and received their RSE relationship talk.
