It was all systems go in the Rainbow Room during our first term together! We have worked so hard and had a lot of fun along the way!
Science Week
During the week of 8th November, we celebrated Science Week across the school. Our favourite experiment was making Lava Lamps!
Marathon Kids – 6th Class
We are so proud of our 6th Class students, Dennis and Luke, who successfully completed their final run of the Marathon Kids Programme in Sundrive Park on 18th November. Those medals are well deserved!
Studying Ancient Egypt
We spent the month of November learning all about life in Ancient Egypt. We learned about how the Egyptians wrote using hieroglyphics, how society was structured, how the flooding of the river Nile each year provided the people with rich soils for growing (through our grass growing experiment in the picture…we actually flooded the Nile!!!) and how many Pharaohs ruled throughout this time. We enjoyed it so much that we took a trip to the National Museum of Ireland on 17th December to view their exhibition on Ancient Egypt!
Water Play
Our favourite morning activity for this term has been water play which takes place every Thursday!
The Christmas Spirit
We really got into the Christmas spirit in December '21 and took some time to decorate our own classroom and the school Christmas Tree! We even took some time to make our own Christmas decorations for our trees at home, thanks to the help of Louise and Lorraine.
