Since coming back from Christmas holidays we have become quite the artists. After our projects on Italy before the break, we have been learning about The Renaissance- the rebirth of European art from the 14th to the 17th century. We focused on two famous artists - Leonardo Da Vinci and Michaelangelo. We took a creative approach to their ways of creating masterpieces by trying them out ourselves. After learning about The Statue of David, we tried sculpting ourselves using lollipop sticks and bars of soap. We also took to the floor to try drawing while lying on our backs as that is how Michaelangelo painted The Sistine Chapel. Not as easy as it looks!!
